This five-story structure was built in 2003, and accommodates over 250 resident students. South Residence Hall has double rooms in a traditional corridor style, and each floor has a lounge, kitchenette, computer stations, and laundry facilities. Rooms are furnished with a bed, dresser and desk for each student
To live in the residence halls is to be in a large family, hanging out with those members you are closest to but still acknowledging and respecting the rest of the family.
- Andy Yestrebi, Gates/Gates-Chili High School, Resident Assistant, South Residence Hall.
Walking down the second floor of South you hear loud, crazy sounds of laughter and giggles. Everyone on the floor gets along and is very comfortable with one another. It is not unlikely for all their doors to be open and welcoming with music playing. I think the second floor is a great warm floor that welcomes all that come aboard!
- Kristen Passardi, Solvay/Solvay High School, Resident Assistant, South Residence Hall.
My residents on the 5th floor are great; they make me laugh all the time. It's great because almost everyone on my floor knows each other; it's kind of like one big family.
- Risha Muñoz, Manhattan/Bayard Rustin H.S for the Humanities, Resident Assistant, South Residence Hall.

The instructors were knowledgeable and welcomed class discussions, with
respect for each student's contribution. I've learned how to be a more
effective leader. My capstone class gave insight on how to combine all
the education learned to operate a business. That's when I realized how
much I had sharpened my knowledge.
