Medaille’s Advanced Certificate in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) is designed for students with a master’s degree in a related field who are pursuing mental health counseling licensure. The CMHC Advanced Certificate satisfies New York State’s regulations for licensure, and provides students with the educational requirements required to sit for the New York State licensure exam in Mental Health Counseling. 

If the student completed an advanced certificate (“bridge” program) that is registered by the New York State Education Department, the student will need to have a Form 2 and transcript submitted by the original graduate program as well as a Form 2 and transcript from the graduate program that awards the advanced certificate. The Department will review the transcripts to determine if the combination of programs meets the education requirements for licensure.
