Tuition Exchange Program (TELO)

TELO Tuition Exchange Program

Medaille College employees enjoy tuition exchange benefits through the TELO Tuition Exchange Program

TELO Tuition Exchange Program

Medaille College is the exporting liaison which determines if the employee meets the following eligibility requirements:

1. Must be a full-time employee

2. IRS dependency (FAFSA definition)

3. One-year waiting period – date of starting semester with at least one year of employment

4. This program is awarded by the seniority of the employee – not all applicants are guaranteed a spot

The interested employee must complete the Tuition Exchange Request Application that the liaison previously emailed to you. This will begin the process. Please submit by October 10. The Tuition Exchange Program has an online, easy application process for NEW STUDENTS ONLY. The student should have applied for admission at the selected institutions and have completed all required financial aid application required by each institution.

The host/importing institutions will inform the student of his acceptance or denial into the program. Also please be aware that many institutions have limits on the number of slots that they have available for new students each year. If the dependent is accepted into an institution, it is for full tuition (unless noted) for four years. The host institution may use other financial aid for the tuition as well.

If the qualifying employee drops below full-time employment (part-time or dismissal) at the exporting institution or if the participating institution discontinues membership benefits, the tuition benefit will be terminated at the end of the term.

Responsibilities of the Student Applicant

  • Must maintain good academic and social standing and satisfactory academic progress
  • Must be responsible for all non-tuition expenses such as room and board, fees, books and supplies etc.
  • Student applicants must be admissible at the host institution in accordance with their admission policies and must comply with the financial aid procedures at the importing institution
  • Student applicants are required to submit all financial aid awards to the host/importing institution
  • Students are eligible for the benefit for a total of 8 semesters
  • The exporting liaison will verify your continuing education at said institution and will annually verify you. If you plan on not continuing please notify liaison.
