We will be holding a Career/Internship Fair. The purpose of the event is for students to gain career information regarding their field and to secure knowledge of the opportunities for employment and/or internships.

10 Tips for Attending the Medaille College Job Fair

  1. Research. Research. Research. Employers will expect that you know something about their company.
  2. Bring several quality resumes. Ensure that you make an appointment with Career Planning to review your resume before attending the Job Fair.
  3. Be prepared to quickly sell your skills, talents and experiences. Do you know your elevator speech? Watch the video below.
  4. Dress professionally.
  5. Body language and manners count - Have a good, firm handshake and make eye contact.
  6. Arrive a few minutes early to register and plan your time.
  7. Visit your top choice employers first, and spend time with each. After that, "shop" other employers and do some networking.
  8. Show your interest in employers by asking them what the next steps are. Ask if it's okay to call them or send follow-up letters a few days after the job fair ends.
  9. Bring a pen, pencil and notepad and organize it all in a nice brief case or portfolio. Take notes as you are talking to employers.
  10. Collect business cards or contact info as you go, and do follow up within 24-48 hours with a thank-you letter to each of the representatives with whom you spoke.

I'm grateful for the education I've received.

The instructors were knowledgeable and welcomed class discussions, with
respect for each student's contribution. I've learned how to be a more
effective leader. My capstone class gave insight on how to combine all
the education learned to operate a business. That's when I realized how
much I had sharpened my knowledge.
