The financial aid process can be overwhelming; let us help you change your mind about the challenges of financial aid. Medaille College has a variety of federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs to assist students in meeting their educational expenses. Our goal is to assist you in financing your education.
An applicant's eligibility for financial aid is determined by an evaluation of the information provided on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and the New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) Application (NY residents only).
Most aid is awarded on the basis of "financial need." Financial need is the difference between the student's cost of education and the amount the family is expected to contribute to the student's education. The cost of education is determined by the Financial Aid Office and includes such things as tuition & fees, books & supplies, room & board, transportation expenses, and personal expenses. The amount of the family contribution is determined by a federal formula which evaluates the information (income, assets, family size, number in college, etc.) provided on the FAFSA.
Eligibility for the New York State grant program (TAP) is based on New York State net taxable income.
To be eligible for aid, you must be matriculated in a degree or certificate program, must be a United States citizen or permanent resident enrolled for at least six credits per semester to be eligible for Subsidized or Unsubsidized Stafford loans. For TAP, you must be enrolled full-time and be a New York State resident.
The instructors were knowledgeable and welcomed class discussions, with
respect for each student's contribution. I've learned how to be a more
effective leader. My capstone class gave insight on how to combine all
the education learned to operate a business. That's when I realized how
much I had sharpened my knowledge.
