Clinical Assistant Professor, Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology

 

 

Medaille College is actively seeking applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor to teach in the Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology (PsyD). Applicants must have a doctoral degree in clinical psychology or a related specialty from an APA-accredited program and be licensed or license eligible in NY. Successful applicants will have graduate level teaching, clinical supervision, dissertation advisement experience, and a strong record of clinical, scholarly, and/or professional activity. Interest and experience in scientific methods, psychological assessment, diversity, and/or clinical child psychology are preferred.

 

The PsyD Program, which is designated as a licensure-qualifying program in New York, is based on the practitioner-scholar model and accepted its first group of students in September 2012.

Student Success Advocate, TRIO Student Support Service Program

Medaille College has an immediate opening for a full-time, 12-month Student Success Advocate.  This position is funded through the TRIO Student Support Services federal grant program which is in the last year of the current grant cycle. The successful candidate will serve first generation college students, low income students, and students with disabilities evidencing the need for academic support.  This position works cooperatively with other SSS staff to maintain compliances with federal legislation.  The Student Success Advocate will also support the project goals of training and graduating the target population by providing intrusive academic advisement to a caseload of participants and other duties as assigned.

Masters degree in Counseling, Student Personnel Administration or related field required with a minimum of one year experience working with the target population. Some STEM background is preferred. Excellent presentation, interpersonal and written communication skills required. Experience with data management preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with a background similar to students served.

Communications Adjunct Instructor

The Department of Communications at Medaille College seeks an adjunct instructor for fall 2014 to teach an Introduction to Print Journalism in the Digital Age course in the Communication Program.  Three to five years experience in print journalism required.  This course is a survey of Journalism class taken mostly by freshmen in the Communication program.

Visiting Faculty for Communications

Medaille College is currently seeking a full- time faculty member for Fall 2014 for a one-year appointment in the Communication program to teach a variety of courses, including Public Speaking, Mass Communication, Communication Theory and other Communication courses as needed.  Ability to assist in the Baccalaureate Capstone course in the College’s interdisciplinary General Education program is also helpful for this position. 

Experience in Communication Technologies is a plus. A Master’s degree is preferred with three to five years’ experience.

Clinical Director for Marriage & Family Therapy

The Department of Graduate Counseling and Psychology at Medaille College is actively seeking applications for a full-time position as a Clinical Director of Marriage & Family Therapy on the Buffalo, NY campus.  The successful candidate will manage the MFT clinic; teach a wide range of graduate-level courses in Marriage & Family Therapy; advice, mentor, and supervise students as they move through their clinical placements; engage in activities that contribute to scholarship within the profession, including clinical practice; and provide service to the graduate programs, the department, and the college.

The successful candidate must be either New York State licensed or license-eligible as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and have at least three years of clinical and/or teaching experience at the graduate level in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Experience and/or interest in teaching in an online format is preferred.

The College offers its master’s degree program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at its Rochester, Buffalo, and Online Campuses, which provide academic preparation for students who wish to pursue licensure as a Mental Health Counselor in New York State (LMHC). The program is designed for working adults, and on-ground classes are offered in a weekend format; the online program utilizes an asynchronous format. Responsibilities will include teaching courses at the graduate level, advising, supervising students as they move through their clinical placements, engaging in professional development activities, and providing service to the College.

Director of Marketing

Medaille College invites nominations and expressions of interest for the position of Director of Marketing. Serving in this newly created position, the Director will support the design and integration of Medaille’s marketing activities, with the goal of generating increased student interest, application, and enrollment.  Reporting directly to the President, the Director will work collaboratively within the President’s Cabinet to provide the marketing analysis, expertise and guidance necessary for meeting the College’s strategic goals.

With demonstrated analytical and marketing experience in the higher education, not-for-profit, business and/or public sectors, the candidate will serve as Medaille’s chief marketing analyst and the “optimizer” of all marketing resources and activities.  While there is no stand-alone marketing budget center, the Director will work across all departments and will be able to leverage the existing marketing teams situated in the Enrollment Management and College Relations departments.  These resources include people in graphic design, copy writing, web design, social media, as well as purchased services.  In addition, the marketing efforts can count on Medaille’s respected brand as “Buffalo’s College” and the place “Where College meets Career.”   With respected undergraduate or graduate offerings such as Veterinarian Technology, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and Organizational Leadership, and many local alumni/ae making a difference in the region, there is much to attract students to Medaille.

The Director will also be expected to provide the Return on Investment (ROI) analysis for all marketing expenditures and activities, and use this analysis to support the marketing strategy particularly of the Vice Presidents for Enrollment Management and College Relations.  Working across the College, this position will be a key player in Medaille’s strategy to increase enrollment.

It is essential for the new Director to possess strong analytical skills, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.  Candidates should exhibit the qualities of character and the values that resonate with Medaille’s culture of collaboration and must have the stature to represent the college both internally and externally. A bachelor’s degree is requisite; an advanced degree is preferred.

Network Engineer

Medaille College is accepting applications for a Network Engineer.  In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for day to day support and maintenance of all infrastructure devices including Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, Cisco VOIP and wireless systems.  This position will also provide infrastructure support for various devices/systems that are part of the network as well as server and system support.

School of Education:  Full-time, Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Literacy

Applicants are being sought for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor in Literacy to begin August 15, 2014.  The successful candidate will become part of the School of Education Literacy Program which offers a masters degree in Literacy.  This program prepares graduates to become empowered classroom teachers, reading specialists, and/or literacy coaches/consultants. Literacy faculty also teach classes in reading to both undergraduate and graduate students pursuing their initial certification in education.

The School of Education seeks candidates with expertise in reading research and theory, extensive knowledge of the processes of literacy acquisition as well as the assessment and intervention for the struggling reader and writer.  The candidate must possess a terminal degree in Literacy/Reading or expect to complete a doctorate by the fall of 2014.  A minimum of 3-5 years of teaching at.preschool, elementary, or middle/high school level is required.  Successful college-level teaching is preferred.  The faculty at Medaille College is expected to consistently demonstrate scholarly growth.
