In June, students from Medaille's Department of Veterinary Technology presented a $500 check to Baby Joe Mesi as a contribution to his foundation. The fundraising efforts were sparked by the need of a Medaille student, Jessie Frysz, who graduated in May. Since a diagnosis of a rare kidney disorder at 11 months of age, she has endured angioplasties and many other surgeries, including a kidney transplant and the removal of a failed transplanted kidney. She continues frequent dialysis treatments and is in need of another kidney transplant. The faculty, staff and students rallied around her for an event in April and for the WNY Kidney Walk in June.
