On September 12, Richard Jurasek, Ph.D. attended the 2011 campaign goal announcement of the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County, held at the Schiller Park Senior Center in Buffalo, N.Y. The organization supports over 80 programs in the region, and over 53,000 individuals and corporations contributed to the 2010 campaign. The 2011 goal of $13.5 million marks the first time in a decade the UWBEC has increased its campaign goal.

Dr. Jurasek serves on the United Way's board of directors, and Medaille has been working with one of the United Way's partners, the Northwest Buffalo Community Center, on educational initiatives within the Riverside district of Buffalo.

I'm grateful for the education I've received.

The instructors were knowledgeable and welcomed class discussions, with
respect for each student's contribution. I've learned how to be a more
effective leader. My capstone class gave insight on how to combine all
the education learned to operate a business. That's when I realized how
much I had sharpened my knowledge.
