Military Times Edge magazine has released its list of best colleges in the nation for veterans, and Medaille has climbed 23 spots to rank #20 for the 2011 academic year.
As one of 59 four-year colleges selected for inclusion by this publication, Medaille is one of five in New York State who made the list.
This annual ranking considers criteria as collected by the National Center for Education Statistics, and is based on a number of factors, including participation in the Yellow Ribbon Program, the availability of veterans’ services on campus and acceptance of ACE credits from military personnel.
Medaille's Office of Veterans and Military Affairs coordinates support for veterans and their families across all three campuses through the admissions process and as they become students. In conjunction with recent changes to the G.I. Bill, Medaille College offers all honorably discharged veterans up to $10,000 for tuition.
“As the first college in Erie County to establish a Student Veterans of America chapter, Medaille has cultivated a vibrant campus culture for its student veteran population and their families,” said Sergio Rodriguez, a Marines Corps veteran and coordinator for the Office of Veterans and Military Affairs.

The instructors were knowledgeable and welcomed class discussions, with
respect for each student's contribution. I've learned how to be a more
effective leader. My capstone class gave insight on how to combine all
the education learned to operate a business. That's when I realized how
much I had sharpened my knowledge.
