Students in Medaille’s Academy for Creativity and
Entrepreneurship (ACE) at Riverside High School were on campus for a week-long
camp titled “Environmental Entrepreneurs: Developing Urban Micro-Parks.”
Throughout camp, students worked in teams to develop mini business plans, which
they presented on Friday, June 29 to a panel of community business leaders who
gave feedback to the aspiring young entrepreneurs.

Community leaders present to provide feedback to students included:

  • Lavon Stephens '05 '07, Administrative Director at Buffalo & Erie County Workforce Development Consortium
  • Joseph E. Wolfson, CEO, Health Transaction Network and member of the College's board of trustees
  • Philip L. Wiggle, adjunct professor at Medaille College
  • Laurie Mahoney, President, Junior Achievement of Western New York

Medaille College and Riverside formed a partnership in 2010.

I'm grateful for the education I've received.

The instructors were knowledgeable and welcomed class discussions, with
respect for each student's contribution. I've learned how to be a more
effective leader. My capstone class gave insight on how to combine all
the education learned to operate a business. That's when I realized how
much I had sharpened my knowledge.
