Program Director, TRiO Student Support Services Program

Medaille College seeks applications for a full-time, 12-month, TRiO Program Director to provide leadership and administrative oversight for the Student Support Services (SSS) Program. The program is a United States Department of Education Title IV grant-funded "TRiO" program designed to increase retention and graduation rates of low-income, first generation college students and students with disabilities through an array of retention-based services. The SSS grant is currently in year 1 of a 5-year grant.

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to providing leadership and interpretation of federal regulations for the SSS program to achieve goals and objectives established for the grant.

The position requires a Master's degree in counseling, education, education psychology, higher education administration, or another closely related field and five years of experience providing support services to students in a college/university setting. Administrative Assistant, Academic Services

Medaille College is looking for an energetic, self-motivated full-time administrative professional responsible for the coordination and execution of all administrative functions for the Medaille College Academic Services Office.

TRiO Academic Counselor

The Academic Counselor for TRiO Student Support Services Program is a 12-month position serving first generation college students, low income, and students with disabilities evidencing the need for academic support. This position works cooperatively with other SSS staff to maintain compliance with federal legislation, including data collection and preparation of annual performance reports. The Academic  Counselor also supports the project goals of retaining and graduating the target population by providing intrusive academic advisement to a caseload of participants. This may include developing graduation plans tracking student progress, minimizing barriers, facilitating supplemental instruction, or other academic supports and providing academic, financial and personal counseling.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship, communication, organizational, and promotional skills required.
  • Ability to utilize computer technology to access information, to maintain records, to generate reports and to communicate effectively.

Strategic Relationship Manager - Rochester

Campus Public Safety Officers

Medaille College Campus Public Safety Department seeks full and part-time Campus Public Safety Officers. Officers will be responsible for providing a safe and secure campus environment for a diverse community of students, faculty and campus departments.

Officers will patrol campus buildings, grounds and parking lots, control traffic and parking as necessary, and provide customer service to the college community. Their primary responsibility will be to work proactively with the students, faculty, and staff to identify report, reduce, and remove the opportunity of crime and criminal behavior before it should occur.

Candidates must have good verbal and written communication skills and be capable of handling and learning a wide variety of tasks. An Associate Degree or 60 College credits preferred, High School Diploma or equivalent required. Director of Admissions--Adult and Graduate Programs

The Enrollment Management Division at Medaille College has a recruitment opportunity available for a Director of Admissions--Adult and Graduate Programs. Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing, the Director represents Medaille College and is responsible for meeting enrollment goals and managing the recruitment team and operations for campus based Adult & Graduate Education programs.

As part of the Medaille College leadership team the Director will work with a team of education and marketing professionals to provide exceptional student services and meet performance goals while communicating the mission and values of Medaille College.

The successful candidate will have a number of responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Lead and motivate team of recruiters to achieve enrollment goals. Hands on supervision and management of admissions staff including, accountability/reporting, recruiting, training, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Day-to-day management of student focused recruitment and enrollment activities for the Buffalo and Rochester campuses. Operations include reception, response to inquiries, communication planning and flow, admissions processing, file reading, admissions decisions, yield strategies and enrollment.
  • Analyze statistical data and develops relevant tactics in order enhance recruitment and yield strategies and provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports of actual performance versus targets.
  • Ensure that admissions staff are utilizing best practices, follow up, and making every effort to meet and/or exceed lead, application and enrollment goals.
  • Plan and organize tactics and activities to enhance enrollments and track all performance metrics on a daily basis (e.g. number of prospects generated per week) utilizing technology and CRM.
  • Travel and some evening and weekend work required.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum five (5) years of supervisory experience in consultative sales and/or college recruitment/enrollment services;
  • Bachelor's degree required; Masters degree highly desirable
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed established goals for identifying and converting prospects into enrollments in a competitive higher education environment.
  • Proven skills in conducting analyses and interpreting related inquiry and enrollment data.
  • Demonstrated experience in addressing problems, defining relevant issues, drawing sound conclusions, and making responsible recommendations.
  • Excellent phone presentation skills and highly developed oral and written communication and problem-solving and organizational skills.

Assistant Director of Admissions

The Enrollment Management Division at Medaille College has a recruitment opportunity available as a part of the admissions team for an Assistant Director of Admissions at the Rochester Campus.  The successful candidate will have a number of responsibilities including but not limited to recruiting qualified prospective students; attending  college fairs and other related activities; reviewing and evaluating prospective student applications; effectively managing an individual territory including recruitment travel, prospective student interviews, and group sessions; manages ongoing communication with prospective students and their families; acting as a liaison to other departments and programs; building recruitment plans in new areas and building on past success in established areas; maintaining territorial management follow-up (phone calls, emails, other written communication etc.). Integrated Healthcare Delivery Adjuncts

Medaille College is looking for experienced professions, preferably with a healthcare background, to teach graduate-level courses in its Integrated Health Delivery Certificate.  Courses include: Topics in Integrated Healthcare Delivery, Management and Leadership, Systems Thinking, Organizational Behavior, Principles of Healthcare Finance, and Organizational Change.

School of Education:  Full-time, Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Literacy

Applicants are being sought for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor in Literacy to begin August 15, 2014.  The successful candidate will become part of the School of Education Literacy Program which offers a masters degree in Literacy.  This program prepares graduates to become empowered classroom teachers, reading specialists, and/or literacy coaches/consultants. Literacy faculty also teach classes in reading to both undergraduate and graduate students pursuing their initial certification in education.

The School of Education seeks candidates with expertise in reading research and theory, extensive knowledge of the processes of literacy acquisition as well as the assessment and intervention for the struggling reader and writer.  The candidate must possess a terminal degree in Literacy/Reading or expect to complete a doctorate by the fall of 2014.  A minimum of 3-5 years of teaching at.preschool, elementary, or middle/high school level is required.  Successful college-level teaching is preferred.  The faculty at Medaille College is expected to consistently demonstrate scholarly growth.
