Located in Buffalo, New York, Medaille College announces the national search for President. The successful candidate will assume the leadership of a well-respected independent college with a distinguished history and a 21st century approach to the innovative delivery of instruction. The individual will succeed Dr. Richard Jurasek, Medaille’s sixth president, who is retiring after an eight-year tenure.

Clinical Assistant Professor/Program Director, A.A.S. in Veterinary Technology Online Program

Medaille College seeks a full-time, assistant professor to serve as the Program Director for Medaille College’s Associate in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology Online degree program. The Program Director will teach in the program, recruit and supervise adjuncts, staff classes, place students at appropriate clinical sites, manage the accreditation process for AVMA, mentor students, and work with College Admissions to form relationships with the Veterinarian industry.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years as a practicing or faculty-appointed Veterinarian or Veterinary Technician, a minimum M.S. degree or AVMA recognized Board Certification, and must be licensed to practice in New York State. Campus Public Safety Officer

Medaille College Campus Public Safety Department seeks campus public safety officers. Officers will be responsible for providing a safe and secure campus environment for a diverse community of students, faculty and campus departments.

Officers will patrol campus buildings, grounds and parking lots, control traffic and parking as necessary, and provide customer service to the college community.  Their primary responsibility will be to work proactively with the students, faculty, and staff to identify report, reduce, and remove the opportunity of crime and criminal behavior before it should occur.

Candidates must have good verbal and written communication skills and be capable of handling and learning a wide variety of tasks.  An Associate Degree or 60 College credits preferred, High School Diploma or equivalent required.  Successful candidate must possess a current New York State Security Guard License, clean valid NYS Drivers license and certification in emergency first aid and/or CPR.  Previous campus public safety, security or law enforcement experience preferred.

Executive Director of Adult and Graduate Enrollment

The Enrollment Management Division at Medaille College has a recruitment opportunity available for an Executive Director of Adult and Graduate Enrollment.   Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Management, the Executive Director represents Medaille College and is responsible for meeting enrollment goals and managing the recruitment team and operations for Medaille College's campus based Adult & Graduate Education programs.

As part of the Medaille College leadership team the Executive Director will work with a team of education and marketing professionals to provide exceptional student services and meet performance goals while communicating the mission and values of Medaille College.

The successful candidate will have a number of responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Lead and motivate team of recruiters to achieve enrollment goals. Hands on supervision and management of admissions staff including, accountability/reporting, recruiting, attendance, training, coaching, mentoring, and taking disciplinary action if necessary.
  • Day-to-day management of campus-based student focused recruitment and enrollment activities for the Buffalo and Rochester campuses. Operations include reception, response to inquiries, communication planning and flow, admissions processing, file reading, admissions decisions, yield strategies and enrollment.
  •  Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources (corporate/outside organizations) and Medaille’s alumni, board members, and Leadership Management Council to ensure the continued production of leads and to drive community relationships, enrollments and long-term partnerships
  • Create and implement initial and on-going marketing/communication plans for all constituencies, establishing database for communication, tracking and optimization.
  • Analyze statistical data and develops relevant tactics in order enhance recruitment and yield strategies and provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports of actual performance versus targets. 
  • Planning, monitoring and accountability for reaching enrollment goals.
  • Ensure that admissions staff are utilizing best practices, follow up, and making every effort to meet and/or exceed lead, application and enrollment goals.
  • Develop strategies and work collaboratively with the President’s cabinet,  Medaille community members and community/corporate partners to optimize conversion rates and meet enrollment goals.
  • Plan and organize tactics and activities to enhance enrollments and track all performance metrics on a daily basis (e.g. number of prospects generated per week) utilizing technology and CRM.
  • Promote a culture of respect and tolerance for others in the workplace.
  • Encourage creative thinking and team cohesiveness.
  • Travel and some evening and weekend work required.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum five (5) years of supervisory experience in consultative sales and/or college recruitment/enrollment services;
  • Bachelor's degree required; Masters degree highly desirable
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed established goals for identifying and converting prospects into enrollments in a competitive higher education environment.
  • Proven skills in conducting analyses and interpreting related inquiry and enrollment data.
  • Demonstrated experience in addressing problems, defining relevant issues, drawing sound conclusions, and making responsible recommendations.
  • Excellent phone presentation skills and highly developed oral and written communication and problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, meet critical deadlines and enrollment targets and prioritize a heavy workload under pressure and competing assignments.
  • Sensitivity, adaptability and ability to interact with diverse groups and individuals at all organizational levels within a corporation.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing outreach, marketing and recruitment plans; project management; and with office machinery, including computers and required software applications.

Director of Alumni Relations

Medaille College seeks to fill a full-time opening for a Director of Alumni Relations to work with alumni leadership to plan, implement and evaluate traditional and innovative programs that encourage the involvement of alumni in the development of the College, thus developing a stronger association with the institution. 

The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree preferably in public relations, communications, management, or other relevant disciplines.  Three or four years of related experience at a higher education institution is preferred.

Assistant Professors, Clinical Mental Health Counseling

The Department of Graduate Counseling and Psychology at Medaille College is actively seeking applications for two full-time positions as a non-tenure-track clinical assistant professor to teach in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at its Buffalo and Rochester Campus. This is a twelve-month position.  The successful candidate will teach a wide range of graduate-level courses in Mental Health Counseling; advise, mentor, and supervise students as they move through their clinical placements; engage in activities that contribute to scholarship within the profession, including clinical practice; and provide service to the graduate programs, the department, and the College. The sucessful candidate will also contribute to the CACREP accreditation process. An earned doctorate in Counselor Education or a related field is required; candidates who are ABD or have exceptional related experience may also be considered. The successful candidate must be either New York State licensed or license-eligible as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and have at least three years of clinical and/or teaching experience at the graduate level in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Experience and/or interest in teaching in an online format is preferred.

The College offers its master’s degree program in Mental Health Counseling at its Buffalo and Rochester Campuses, which provide academic preparation for students who wish to pursue licensure as a Mental Health Counselor in New York State (LMHC). The program is designed for working adults, and classes are offered in a weekend format. Assistant Director of Admissions

The Enrollment Management Division at Medaille College has a recruitment opportunity available as a part of the admissions team for an Assistant Director of Admissions at the Rochester Campus.  The successful candidate will have a number of responsibilities including but not limited to recruiting qualified prospective students; attending  college fairs and other related activities; reviewing and evaluating prospective student applications; effectively managing an individual territory including recruitment travel, prospective student interviews, and group sessions; manages ongoing communication with prospective students and their families; acting as a liaison to other departments and programs; building recruitment plans in new areas and building on past success in established areas; maintaining territorial management follow-up (phone calls, emails, other written communication etc.). This position requires work on some holidays, evenings, and weekends.

Integrated Healthcare Delivery Adjuncts

Medaille College is looking for experienced professions, preferably with a healthcare background, to teach graduate-level courses in its Integrated Health Delivery Certificate.  Courses include: Topics in Integrated Healthcare Delivery, Management and Leadership, Systems Thinking, Organizational Behavior, Principles of Healthcare Finance, and Organizational Change.
 
The College is also looking for experienced instructors to teach in its BBA, MBA and Master of Organization Leadership programs.  Both the certificate program and the three degree programs are offered in an accelerated seven-week course of study.  Minimum requirements are a business-related graduate degree with at least 10 years of business experience.  All of these positions are for adjunct faculty.

Clinical Assistant Professor, Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology

Network Engineer

Medaille College is accepting applications for a Network Engineer.  In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for day to day support and maintenance of all infrastructure devices including Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, Cisco VOIP and wireless systems.  This position will also provide infrastructure support for various devices/systems that are part of the network as well as server and system support.

A BS degree in a related field is preferred and five to seven years work experience is required.  The applicant must have strong communication skills, able to multi-task and work in a team environment.

School of Education:  Full-time, Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Literacy

Applicants are being sought for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor in Literacy to begin August 15, 2014.  The successful candidate will become part of the School of Education Literacy Program which offers a masters degree in Literacy.  This program prepares graduates to become empowered classroom teachers, reading specialists, and/or literacy coaches/consultants. Literacy faculty also teach classes in reading to both undergraduate and graduate students pursuing their initial certification in education.

The School of Education seeks candidates with expertise in reading research and theory, extensive knowledge of the processes of literacy acquisition as well as the assessment and intervention for the struggling reader and writer.  The candidate must possess a terminal degree in Literacy/Reading or expect to complete a doctorate by the fall of 2014.  A minimum of 3-5 years of teaching at.preschool, elementary, or middle/high school level is required.  Successful college-level teaching is preferred.  The faculty at Medaille College is expected to consistently demonstrate scholarly growth.
