Planned Giving Made Simple
Medaille College's mission to foster a diverse learning environment is only possible with the vision and forethought of supporters like you. As you create or refine a plan to protect and provide for your family's future, please remember you can include a gift to the College.

Such giving techniques are called "planned gifts," because with thoughtful planning, you create win-win solutions for you, your loved ones and Medaille.  We invite you to explore planned gifts that can be tailored to your specific situation. For example:

Bequest - making a gift that costs nothing during your lifetime.

A bequest is simply language you place in your will that states a specific amount, or percentage of your estate, to be left to Medaille after your obligations are met.  Just a few sentences in your will or trust are all that is needed to ensure future students can receive an outstanding education that challenges and supports their educational goals.

A will is your opportunity to help the people and organizations that mean the most to you; to sort out your investments, real estate, and other property; to save taxes for your heirs. It's the most important opportunity you'll get in your life to tell the world what you want and how you want it done.

On the other hand, if you die without a will, your property will be taxed and distributed according to

the rules and formulas of state laws.   Should that happen there are no provision to give extra assistance to a family member who needs it; to pass on a personal item to a friend or family member you know would appreciate; or to make a gift to your favorite charity.

If you already have a will it may be a good time t

A gift to Medaille in your will or revocable trust proclaims your confidence that we will continue to serve our mission and make a difference in the lives of future generations. o review it as tax laws change, and so do family circumstances. Take the time to make sure that your will still works the way you want it to. When you write or rewrite your will, please consider including a bequest to Medaille College. You will be building our future financial strength so we can continue to educate future generations with a gift that costs you nothing during your lifetime.

A bequest:

>> is easy to arrange.

>> will not alter your current lifestyle in any way.

>> can be easily modified to address your changing needs.

I'm grateful for the education I've received.

The instructors were knowledgeable and welcomed class discussions, with
respect for each student's contribution. I've learned how to be a more
effective leader. My capstone class gave insight on how to combine all
the education learned to operate a business. That's when I realized how
much I had sharpened my knowledge.
