The accelerated-format Master of Science degree in Education at Medaille College allows you to earn a master's degree, qualifying you to apply for a teaching certificate in New York State. For Canadian students, this program qualifies you to apply for teacher certification in Ontario as well as the State of New York.
The Medaille, you will learn from mentor-teachers, many who bring years of teaching and administrative experience into the classroom. Medaille's teachers will work closely with you so you graduate with the skills necessary to become a highly effective and creative teacher of students with diverse backgrounds.
Duration: The Master of Education: Elementary Education is a 42-credit, one-year program program offered in two flexible formats: two weekdays a week or every other weekend. The program takes 16 months to complete. Classes are taught at Medaille College's Amherst, New York campus.
According to recent data, approximately 79% of Medaille Master's in Elementary Education graduates were employed in education or continuing their studies. Graduates go on to become classroom teachers in public and private schools, subject specialists, special education teachers, adjunct professors, substitute teachers and teaching assistants.
