The Master of Science in Education: Adolescent Education at Medaille is targeted to people who already have bachelor’s degrees in one of the certification areas: English, French, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry or Social Studies. The program qualifies you to apply for certification in New York State and the Province of Ontario, Canada.
Our accelerated program gives you the preparation and the skills necessary to excel as a secondary school teacher-leader. As a Master of Science in Education student you will learn in small, dynamic classes from faculty with teaching and administrative experience, who will work closely with you to master teaching methods, curriculum planning and new classroom technologies.
As a practitioner-based college, our focus is to help you become as prepared as possible to take your place in the 21st century classroom.
Adolescent Education Master's Degree Highlights
Duration: The Master of Education: Adolescent Education is a 30-credit, nine-month program offered in two flexible formats: two weekdays a week or every other weekend. Classes are taught at Medaille College's Amherst, New York campus.
Graduates from Medaille go on to become classroom teachers and long-term substitutes as well as take positions on boards such as Canandaigua Academy, Southwood Park School, NCDSB - Denis Morris High School, Blue Water School Board and the Toronto Catholic School Board.
