Being the first person in my family to attend college, TRiO has given me ample resources in order to help me with my academic career. From computers, motivational words, highly resourceful workshops, and a friendly smile, TRiO, along with many outstanding instructors, has helped to shape me and has inspired curiosity in wide subject areas. It has been a wonderful experience!
Elmarys Maldonado, Senior, Psychology '11
TRiO has helped me become more involved on campus. TRiO has also given me a chance to help underclassmen adjust to Medaille and make me feel like I've had a positive impact on the students.
Leah Lichtenberger, Junior, Elementary Education B-6 '12
I believe TRiO stands for Time, Relationships, Individual, and Opportunity. The TRiO program and staff provide time to get you on track and to stay there as well. TRiO professionals build both personal and professional relationships with their students. They also get to know each student on a first name basis. The TRiO program provides opportunities for academic development, assists students with basic college requirements, and motivates students toward the successful completion of their education.
Faith Shaw, '14
TRiO has impacted me by providing me with a second counseling family and giving me a resource to save money with textbook and calculator loan programs.
Andrew Clark, Freshman, Psychology '14

The instructors were knowledgeable and welcomed class discussions, with
respect for each student's contribution. I've learned how to be a more
effective leader. My capstone class gave insight on how to combine all
the education learned to operate a business. That's when I realized how
much I had sharpened my knowledge.
