About Renee Bugenhagen
Dr. Bugenhagen has taught in the Veterinary Technology Program at Medaille since 1994. She is a graduate of the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine and has more than 35 years of clinical veterinary experience in small animal, exotic, and emergency medicine. She currently practices in a small animal clinic in Hamburg, New York, allowing her to keep current with changes in veterinary medicine and to offer clinical cases and an internship site to her students. Dr. Bugenhagen began as the Program Director for the Online AAS in Veterinary Technology in 2017. She loves the challenges of meeting the needs of students in a demanding professional field in the virtual environment. Her lifelong goal is to improve the lives of human beings through their association with animals. She feels she plays her part in this by educating dedicated, compassionate veterinary technicians. Her passions include her children and her pets, including a 220 pound Irish Wolfhound named “Fitz.”
