About Thomas Orrange

Thomas Orrange is serving as the Interim Dean of the School of Leadership, Science and Technology. A lifelong resident of Western New York, Orrange attended D’Youville College where he received his Bachelor of Arts in History. After working in the legal and banking fields, he chose to continue his education, earning his Master of Library Science from the University at Buffalo. Orrange has been with Medaille College since fall 2005. Orrange served as the coordinator of services for adult and graduate students, learning the distinct educational needs of these students. As a faculty librarian, Orrange is dedicated to student success and the intellectual growth of our students. Through multiple avenues, in the classroom, online, reference and research assistance, he shares the collective goals of information literacy and the development of skills for lifelong learning. He is personally dedicated to developing a wide range of knowledge to be able to assist our students and faculty. Orrange has served the larger library community by serving on the board of the Western New York/Ontario chapter of the ACRL, multiple WNYLRC committees, and as an active member of the Connect NY Community Engagement Committee. He is currently serving on the Connect NY Open Education Resources Steering Group. He has served the Medaille community in many ways, including serving as the chair of faculty council and the faculty representative on the president’s cabinet, and numerous additional faculty and college committees. He also serves on the Western New York Community Book Expo board.
