Department of Education Assistant Professor Dr. Caitlin Riegel Selected to Receive 2020 Glen Earthman Outstanding Dissertation Award

Posted by Medaille College Office of Communications

Department of Education Assistant Professor Caitlin Riegel, Ph.D., the program director for Medaille College’s M.S.Ed. adolescent/secondary education and M.S.Ed. elementary education programs, has been selected as the recipient of the 2020 Glen Earthman Outstanding Dissertation Award. This honor is given out by the International Society for Educational Planning (ISEP) in recognition of outstanding dissertations related to all aspects of educational planning and program implementation on the international, state/provincial, regional, local and individual school or building levels.

Dr. Riegel, who will formally receive the award during ISEP’s annual conference this October, earned her doctorate in leadership and policy from Niagara University in 2018. As part of her dissertation, she focused on developing an instrument to measure how often teacher candidates model and apply the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) standards in teacher preparation programs.
