Associate Professor Dr. Klostermann Selected to Receive the 2021 IAMFC Outstanding Practitioner AwardPosted by Medaille College Office of Communications
Internationally recognized behavioral couples therapy expert and Fulbright Specialist Keith Klostermann, Ph.D., LMFT, LMHC, an associate professor in the Department of Social Sciences, Communication & Sport Studies, has been selected to receive the 2021 International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors (IAMFC) Outstanding Practitioner Award. Dr. Klostermann was selected for his commitment to the values of IAMFC and the profession as demonstrated through both his clinical and academic pursuits. He will formally receive the award at the 2021 IAMFC virtual conference later this year.
The International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors (IAMFC) is a division of the American Counseling Association (ACA). The organization promotes excellence in the practice of couples and family counseling, and it embraces a multicultural approach in support of the worth, dignity, potential and uniqueness of families served.
In addition to other recognitions, Dr. Klostermann was selected as the recipient of the 2020 Dr. Linda Seligman Counselor Educator of the Year Award, a national honor given out by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) in recognition of outstanding humanitarian service to others. He was also selected as the recipient of the 2020 Outstanding Professional Award from the Maryland Counseling Association (MCA).
