Medaille College Announces Fourth Annual Student Research, Scholarship & Creativity Day

Posted by Medaille College Office of Communications

On Friday, April 30, Medaille College will host its fourth annual Student Research, Scholarship & Creativity Day — a symposium of presentations and creative works, showcasing the incredible work of Medaille’s undergraduate and graduate students. For the health and safety of the College community, the celebration will be held virtually this year.

All Medaille students are invited to participate in this special virtual symposium, powered by Blackboard Collaborate. There are a variety of ways students can share their research, scholarship or creative work:

  1. Oral Presentation: Students may present their work virtually through a live, 15-minute oral presentation, via a Blackboard Collaborate session.
    • A host will moderate each session.
    • Each session will have multiple presenters from similar disciplines or presentation themes.
  2. Artist's Talk/Performance: Students may present their work virtually though a live, 15-minute artist’s talk, via a Blackboard Collaborate session, sharing excerpts of a performance or relevant samples of their work.
    • A host will moderate each session.
    • Each session will have multiple presenters from similar disciplines or presentation themes.
  3. Display of Creative Work: Students may showcase their creative work by providing a visual and brief description. The creative work will be represented virtually via a montage on the Student Research, Scholarship & Creativity Day webpage.

Any student interested in participating should complete a Request for Proposal by March 21. All students who participate will be mailed the day’s event program, along with a certificate of participation for taking part in the fourth annual Medaille College Student Research, Scholarship & Creativity Day.

As the event gets closer, students, faculty, staff and friends will be able to register to attend symposium sessions. Details will be forthcoming.
